VistaJet has experienced a notable increase in demand for pet-pleasant summer travel, with a remarkable 17% rise in flight activity projected for 2024. The most popular destinations for travelers flying with thier pets include iconic cities such as London, New York, and Nice.
Through its thorough pet travel initiative known as VistaPet, VistaJet ensures that all passengers—both human and animal—enjoy comfort and care at cruising altitudes of 45,000 feet. Along with providing luxurious and stress-free flights, VistaJet actively assists travelers by curating a selection of pet-friendly travel locations.
“At VistaJet, we recognise that pets are cherished members of the family; it’s only natural they accompany us to share precious moments together. With a dedicated team of over 4,000 aviation professionals who meticulously attend to every detail, we are committed to making travel experiences truly exceptional,” stated Matteo Atti, Chief Marketing Officer at VistaJet.
According to Euromonitor International’s latest report, the estimated value of the pet care market in the Asia Pacific region is expected to reach USD 29 billion by 2024. This sector is anticipated to grow at an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4% from 2024 through 2029—nearly double that of North America (2.5%) and Western Europe (2.1%). This trend highlights the increasing importance placed on accommodating pets during travels.
Sence its inception in 2019, VistaPet has addressed various needs and challenges associated with traveling alongside animals by developing solutions in collaboration with seasoned veterinarians, trainers, nutritionists, and groomers.
The offerings within the VistaPet program include:
- VistaPet Pochette: A travel kit provided on every flight containing organic treats for pets along with waterless shampoos, calming wipes, and toys.
- personalized Dining: A specialized menu available upon request featuring fresh meats or fish alongside raw vegetables and whole grain brown rice.
- Aviation Anxiety Workshops: conducted in partnership with The Dog House at select locations aimed at assisting owners traveling with anxious pets.
data from VistaJet indicates that dogs have consistently been the predominant type of pet passenger throughout both 2023 and into early 2024. Interestingly enough though; some unique passengers welcomed aboard included a blue-tongued skink and a Sulcata tortoise—both exhibiting considerable enjoyment during their flights.
“We were delighted to assist a family traveling with two elderly Great Danes along with their cat and an impressive Sulcata tortoise on one particular flight. To ensure all animals were comfortable—especially the tortoise—we activated heated flooring within the cabin mimicking its natural habitat which provided peace of mind for their owners,” added Matteo Atti.
