BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – Fire Incident on East oakland Road

On January 9th, emergency services were alerted to a structure fire.⁤ Witnesses reported seeing smoke billowing​ from ⁣the​ roof ‍and expressed concern about‌ a dog possibly​ trapped inside.

Responding‍ officers quickly broke through the front window ⁢to gain access and successfully rescued two dogs. they administered CPR before transporting​ them to a‍ veterinary clinic⁣ for further care. Tragically, another dog‌ and a ⁣turtle were found deceased at the scene. Firefighters from ⁤Bay village along with teams from Rocky River, Westlake, and Lakewood worked diligently to extinguish the flames. Fortunately, no residents were present during ‍this incident.

A homeowner reported an⁣ unusual disturbance​ around 1:30 AM on January⁤ 5th when her dog began barking aggressively and ran towards the garage door. Officers conducted an exterior check of the property and also an ⁣interior sweep but found no signs‍ of suspicious ‌activity.

A resident reported receiving an email ‌notification from her ⁣bank regarding ⁢a questionable check that had ⁢been cashed without her authorization on⁤ January 7th. She expressed concerns that someone‌ may have intercepted her mail‍ or‌ engaged in identity theft.
