Taylor Russell has stepped away from her role in the Amazon MGM Studios’ reimagining of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” where she was set to star alongside Michael B. Jordan.
The film, which is currently being shot in London under Jordan’s direction, will need to find a new actress for Russell’s character due to reported creative differences. As production progresses towards its scheduled release on March 5, 2027, the studio is expected to announce a recast soon.
This latest adaptation of “The Thomas Crown Affair” features an remarkable cast that includes Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart. The screenplay was penned by drew Pearce and is being kept largely under wraps following an earlier draft by Wes tooke and justin Britt-Gibson that drew inspiration from the original film.

The project is produced by Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo through Outlier society Productions, with Charles Roven representing Atlas Entertainment. Additional producers include Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff from Toberoff Productions. Alan Trustman—who wrote the classic 1968 version featuring Steve McQueen—serves as an executive producer.
