Festive Gatherings in Coal Creek Canyon: Santa’s Special Visits

A Magical Encounter with Santa Claus
COAL CREEK CANYON — on Saturday,December 13,2025,the Coal Creek Canyon Growth Association Hall welcomed a special guest: Santa Claus. From noon until 2 p.m., he delighted local children with his presence. He returned the following Saturday, December 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., this time to share joyful moments with pets.
Santa’s Arrival and Festivities
Dressed in a charming pink velvet suit and classic boots, complete with his iconic white beard, Santa made quite an entrance aboard a fire truck on December 13. According to Hall Manager Suzy Schemel, approximately 40 children participated in this festive gathering.When including their parents and guardians, the total attendance reached around 75 individuals.
“The kids had an absolutely fantastic time,” Schemel remarked. “They wrote letters to Santa while enjoying hot cocoa topped with whipped cream and an array of cookies. It was truly enjoyable.”
Paws and Claws Meet Jolly Old St. Nick
The following week on December 20 saw another delightful event as santa took his seat in the main hall area for pet owners who had pre-registered for specific time slots.Each family entered one at a time through the kitchen door along with their furry friends.
This heartwarming event was organized by Shelly Peters-Schaller from the CCCIA Board, who reported that around twenty attendees brought their pets for this unique opportunity to meet Santa Claus.

The festivities don’t end here! The next exciting events scheduled at the hall include a Chili Cook-off on January 24, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a Valentine’s Pancake Breakfast set for February 14.
