Celebrating Rescue Pets: A Fundraising Event for Local Shelters
BUFFALO, N.Y. — What began as a simple contest in the spring has transformed into a heartfelt festivity honoring two remarkable rescue animals.
A Purposeful Gathering
The Resurgence to the Rescue beer can launch event successfully generated funds for Ten Lives Club and Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue.
Meet the Heroes
This year’s contest highlighted Tum Tum, who triumphed over fading kitten syndrome, and Gauge, a German shepherd who tragically lost his owner in a car accident earlier this spring.
Impact on Local Shelters
The funds raised during this event at Resurgence Brewing Company are vital for local shelters and rescue organizations as they strive to find homes for animals in need.
“We are currently facing an animal welfare crisis across the nation, which is now impacting us here in Western New York—a situation we have not encountered before,” remarked Julie Starr from Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue. “Organizations like ours are shifting their focus from merely rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters down south to also addressing the needs of dogs right here in our community.”
A Significant Contribution
The fundraising efforts yielded over $20,000 for Ten Lives Club and Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue through this engaging competition.
Honoring Their Spirit
“These exceptional animals deserve recognition for their unbelievable resilience and courage during challenging times. They have both endured so much, and it is our privilege to celebrate them as the amazing beings they truly are,” stated Kimberly LaRussa, public relations manager at Ten Lives Club.
