Hello, Nowlu! Welcome back to Honey’s Anime! For those unfamiliar with you, your artist name “Nowlu” combines elements from “Night,” “Owl,” and “Luna.” Can you share how you came up with this name and what these words mean in relation to your music?
Thank you! The name Nowlu evokes the image of a solitary owl extending its wings towards the moon at night. My team and I brainstormed various words inspired by my persona until we settled on this one. While it’s challenging to dissect each word individually, I feel that the essence of “Night” resonates most strongly within my lyrical themes.
The Fusion of Styles in Music
Your music often blends R&B, neo-city pop influences from the 80s and 90s along with a smoky vocal style.How do you manage to harmonize these diverse elements while maintaining your unique sound?
When I perform, I aim to evoke nostalgia while also incorporating contemporary influences.
Diving into ‘Shirogarasu’
can you tell us about your latest release—the ending theme for the anime “Mugen Gacha”? What emotions or messages did you want listeners to take away after experiencing ‘shirogarasu’?
The title “Shirogarasu,” which translates as “white crow,” carries notable meaning. In this song, crows symbolize vengeance while white represents justice.
A white crow serves as a metaphor for something unexpected—this ties into our protagonist Light who embodies both lightness and darkness within himself. This duality made me feel like it was an apt title.
The concept of flight typically suggests moving forward decisively; however, I approached it from a different angle. The lyrics contain ironic undertones directed at those consumed by revenge—almost suggesting an air of superiority over them.
I wanted listeners to sense a “quietly burning blue flame inside,” complemented by captivating piano melodies that add an intriguing edge—a sophisticated yet cool vibe overall. My hope is for audiences to enjoy this interplay deeply.
Even if moments in the story leave one feeling drained emotionally, I believe this track will help remind them of their purpose as they move toward subsequent episodes.

< p >‘Dose’ narrates one particularly painful night in my life filled with fear , loneliness , questioning how long such feelings would last until they became unbearable . It was agonizingly suffocating .
< p >People tend not onyl remember but also embellish memories over time ; eventually even these experiences may fade away completely .At that moment though all I wanted was escape due their intensity yet still recalled some positive notes scribbled during those days too !
< p >‘Dose’ started out merely as working title ; it’s actually resignation expressed through Japanese language but somehow pulled me out from depths despairing state ! Thus decided transforming memory surrounding event along emotional eruption contained therein into song hoping others might find solace within too.< / P >
< P >Although birthed amidst despairing circumstances intended convey uplifting melody encouraging movement rather than stagnation instead so focused delivering danceable groove rather than usual style – hope shines through ! < / P >
