Insights from the BEYBLADE X team at Anime Expo 2025
As part of the BEYBLADE X World Championship, the association behind this beloved franchise hosted the U.S. National Qualifier at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles. Honey’s Anime had a unique opportunity to sit down with key figures: Masahiko Yamazaki (Head of World Beyblade Change), Hisato Takaoka (General Manager of Beyblade), and Makoto Muraki (Expert on the Beyblade Development Team). Let’s delve into their thoughts regarding BEYBLADE X’s debut at AX!
The Choice of Venue: Why Anime Expo?
BEYBLADE made its debut in Japan back in 1999 and reached American shores in 2000, marking a remarkable 25 years sence its introduction here.Last year was our inaugural presence at anime Expo, and we were genuinely thrilled to witness so many adult fans attending. We have always recognized the potential within American audiences, but experiencing their enthusiasm firsthand was an incredible moment for us. this is why we decided to return and host this year’s competition.
The journey began with BEYBLADE as merely a toy; though, our vision has evolved towards establishing it as an entertainment sport—Los Angeles being synonymous with entertainment made it an ideal choice for us. Given that AX is such a prominent event according to our department’s history, we saw it as an excellent opportunity for engagement. If you had seen how long the lines were during Saturday morning (July 5th), you would understand how surprised we were by fan turnout! While last year marked our presence here, this year signifies our first official tournament—an experience beyond what we could have anticipated.
Fan Experience: What Do You Hope They Take Away?
I see great potential for further developing adult tournaments across America. My aspiration is that over time we’ll be able to host more events tailored specifically for American fans. Observing hundreds gathered around our stage got me thinking about how rare it is to witness an official BEYBLADE match like this.
I want attendees to walk away with memories of what it’s like participating in an official match; I hope those who joined us will return home inspired by their experiences here.We aimed not only to showcase how competitions are structured but also provide insights into what happens after winning or losing—a handshake can mean so much! That’s what I wish participants will remember from today.
The Future: Will You Return Next Year?
Certainly! As part of BEYBLADE X’s strategy moving forward, we’re looking forward to returning next year while expanding into additional tournaments or activities alongside Hasbro—our partner based in the U.S.
A Decade Ahead: The Vision for Growth
The emergence of technologies like AI and AR has opened new avenues; notably through Roblox where we’ve introduced ourselves into metaverse experiences—currently attracting nearly 40 million players globally! While technology plays a role here—and certainly appeals—we believe community remains paramount among fans who enjoy engaging with our brand through various means irrespective of technological advancements.
Selecting Roblox as Your Platform
Why did you choose Roblox as your primary platform for building community around BEYBLADExX ?
In Japan currently lacks popularity compared elsewhere such as North America & parts Asia where it’s thriving immensely!. Our strength lies within providing tangible experiences yet simultaneously presents challenges when aiming global reach—but right now Roblox serves precisely that need created by passionate users worldwide.
The player demographics reveal approximately only five percent hail from japan while ninety-five percent come from diverse regions including Thailand followed closely by Mexico & USA respectively—which reinforces why embracing platforms like Roblox makes sense given its ability transcend geographical limitations!
Navigating Design Challenges
When designing components intended specifically competitive gamers’ needs ,how do balance performance durability customization ? Is one aspect prioritized above others or does compromise play role ?
The three elements mentioned hold significant importance . First off safety takes precedence since both children adults engage alike ; thus ensuring enjoyment without compromising security remains crucial . However thrilling aspects high-speed intense collisions must also factor heavily product development process creating delicate balance between these competing demands .
Our goal isn’t simply achieving trade-offs rather maximizing capabilities across all fronts which guides every design decision made throughout development cycle ensuring optimal outcomes achieved consistently!
