Exclusive Interview with ASH: The voice Behind ASH DA HERO
We are thrilled to have the dynamic ASH, the lead vocalist of ASH DA HERO, back for another engaging conversation with Honey’s Anime! Renowned for his powerful voice and infectious energy, ASH captivates fans both in Japan and internationally through his band’s exhilarating live shows. After the release of “Kyoukai Revolution,” the ending theme for Ultraman Omega’s second season, we caught up with him to discuss his passion for the Ultraman series, the creative process behind their latest tracks, and what fans can expect during their ongoing global tour.
The Inspiration Behind “BRIGHT EYES”
How would you describe your connection to “BRIGHT EYES,” and what elements from Ultraman influenced its creation?
It truly is a privilege. The song was crafted by NARASAKI and lyrically shaped by Matsui; it holds immense importance for me. Upon hearing the demo for the first time, I promptly thought, “This embodies Ultraman.”
I’ve been an avid fan of Ultraman since my childhood—so much so that during my elementary school years, I would write letters addressed to Ultraman himself! To my surprise, I received replies that became cherished memories from my youth.
This deep affection drives me to pour my heart into every performance. My hope is that I can inspire young viewers watching Omega today; perhaps one day among them will be someone who dreams of becoming a musician themselves—just like I did. It feels critically important to pass on this legacy.
The Blend of Rap and Singing in “Missing Link”
You incorporated rap into “Missing Link,” featuring MindaRyn. Do you prefer rapping or singing more? Which do you find more challenging live?
Both forms are integral parts of who I am as an artist. Neither one feels superior; they each offer unique avenues for expression. My goal is always to deliver my best performance while ensuring I’m fully engaged with the audience.
