ROANOKE COUNTY, Virginia (WDBJ) – A residential fire in Cave Spring on the evening of September 24 resulted in the displacement of two individuals and several pets.

The Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department received an emergency call at 10:25 PM regarding a structure fire located in the 3800 block of Hyde Park Drive.
Upon arrival, first responders found a wooden structure engulfed in flames at the back deck. Fortunately, two residents managed to escape unharmed along with six birds and a dog, according to reports from emergency personnel.

The blaze was brought under control within approximately 15 minutes, as reported by officials from Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department.
The Roanoke County Fire Marshals Office is currently conducting an investigation into what caused the fire and assessing damage estimates.
