LONDON (AP) — The Chelsea Flower Show dazzled attendees with a blend of royalty, celebrities, and even a few furry friends, showcasing resilient landscapes and innovative gardening techniques.
Before the event opened to the public on Monday, King Charles III and queen Camilla took a private tour. As the patron of the Royal horticultural Society, King Charles plays an integral role in this annual celebration held in London.
This event serves as a premier destination for exploring contemporary gardening trends, discovering new plant varieties, and gathering inspiration for home gardens.
The displays emphasized natural design elements such as moss pathways and gravel trails seamlessly merging with lush greenery. One notable garden recreated the Atlantic temperate rainforest ecosystem that once thrived along Britain’s western shores.
During their visit, Charles and Camilla explored a dog-pleasant garden and admired the King’s Rose—a newly developed fuchsia-and-white striped rose variety named in honor of Charles to support his charitable foundation.
