Gold Star Issues Urgent Recall of Food Products Due to contamination Risks
Gold Star Distribution, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has announced a recall of both human and pet food items that were stored under unsanitary conditions. The presence of rodent and bird droppings raises significant health concerns for anyone who handles or consumes these products. Although no illnesses have been reported to date related to these items, the potential for serious health risks remains due to pathogens commonly associated with such contamination.

The Dangers of Rodent Contamination
Rodent feces can harbor various dangerous pathogens including hantavirus, Salmonella, and Leptospira. These microorganisms pose a risk not only to humans but also to pets that may come into contact with contaminated food or environments.

The recalled products were distributed across grocery stores in Minnesota, North dakota, and Indiana. Key cities affected include Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester, Eden Prairie in Minnesota; Fargo in North Dakota; and Indianapolis in Indiana.
