Paws at the Park: A Celebration of Pet Adoption

The ‌season for pet adoption is thriving, making it an ideal moment to find your lifelong companion. The city of⁤ Santa Clarita is excited to announce it’s⁣ third annual Pet Adoption Week.

this event will take place from​ October 27 through November 1,⁣ during which all adoption fees will be waived for residents who adopt a pet from the Castaic Animal ‌Care Center located at 31044 Charlie Canyon ⁤avenue, ⁣Castaic, ⁣CA ​91384.

A special feature throughout this week includes ‌daily highlights on social media showcasing pets available ‌for adoption. Residents can⁣ also explore ‍adoptable animals online by visitingAnimalCare.LACounty.gov.

The week‌ kicks off with a festive Halloween-themed event titled “Paws⁣ at the Park,” scheduled for ⁤Saturday,⁣ November 1st from ‍9 a.m. to noon at William S. Hart Park located​ at 24151 Newhall Ave., Newhall, CA 91321.

This family-kind gathering invites attendees to meet‍ adorable dogs available for adoption from the Castaic Animal Care Center while enjoying themed photo opportunities with their new furry friends at a spooky photo booth. Additionally, there will be lawn games hosted by the city’s Youth Sports Pop Up and⁤ Play program along with craft activities organized ⁣by the santa clarita Public Library.

The Castaic Animal Care Center operates Monday through Saturday from ⁤11 a.m.-5 p.m., welcoming walk-ins without appointments necesary so potential adopters can meet cats and dogs ready for new homes.

please ⁢note that those interested in adopting during Pet Adoption⁣ Week are responsible only for paying licensing fees—typically $20 for‍ dogs and $5 ‍for ​cats—while all other costs are covered by the city.
