A 61-year-old Wisconsin woman was taken into custody following a standoff with police

Upon their arrival, officers observed smoke and flames emanating from the roof. Investigating further inside, they discovered an active fire in the attic caused by burning insulation materials.

The firefighting team quickly extinguished the blaze, effectively reducing both fire and smoke damage within the attic space as well as adjacent rooms.

The preliminary inquiry indicated that aging electrical wiring was responsible for igniting the fire. The homeowner mentioned that she noticed a light suddenly go out in one room followed by an acrid smell of burning electricity.

No injuries were reported among any occupants—including both children and their pet—and authorities are continuing their investigation into this incident.
