Jeremy Renner is sharing his experiences in the upcoming film “Stardust Future: Stars and Scars,” which its creators claim to be the first feature-length movie entirely produced using artificial intelligence.
Set for a theatrical release in November, this project marks a collaboration between Renner and director Yi Zhou, who previously worked together on the documentary “chronicles of Disney.” In this film, Renner takes on the role of the Oracle of Time, guiding viewers through an epic narrative that spans from the dawn of time to 2080. This role signifies a significant return for Renner following his near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023.
Zhou’s production company, Into the Sun Entertainment, is gearing up for an awards campaign aimed at multiple Oscar categories such as Best Feature Film, Original Score, Original Song, Sound Design, Film Editing, and Visual Effects.Notably, fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg appears in the film through a 3D digital representation. The score features ZhouS original compositions alongside rearrangements by renowned composer Ennio Morricone performed by Into the Sun Collective.

A portion of the film’s proceeds will benefit two charities: Renner’s Rennervation Foundation—which supports foster children—and The Motion Picture & Television Fund that aids entertainment industry workers affected by California wildfires this year.
Zhou describes her innovative approach to animation as combining both 2D and 3D techniques within a unique storytelling framework she has coined as distinct myth capability. This visual style emphasizes thematic contrasts between history and modernity while exploring imagination versus reality. According to her team, no previous feature has utilized AI to create an entire movie with such blended animation methods.
Inspired by Godfrey Reggio’s “Qatsi” trilogy and composer Philip Glass’s work, “Stardust Future” delves into pressing issues like climate change, conflict, mortality, and human awareness through philosophical inquiries about whether technological advancement can harmonize with nature’s balance.
“This film emerges from were human resilience meets machine creativity,” Zhou remarked. “I asked AI to narrate our past while revealing our future. My team and I used AI not as a replacement for creativity but rather as an extension of memory—aiming to mend what humanity has fractured while envisioning what we can become.”
Zhou further emphasized: “AI serves humanity; it should not dominate human creativity. It expands our potentialities and creates what I term an immortalityscape—a vision where art intersects with memory and technology across time. I’m excited about its vast possibilities for tommorow if we utilize it responsibly.”
The Chinese multimedia artist has showcased her work at prestigious international events including Venice Biennale, Shanghai Biennale, Sundance Film Festival ,and Cannes Film festival.
Basing her operations out of Los Angeles while also working from Rome and Hong Kong,Zhou founded Into The Sun Entertainment—a comprehensive production company focused on films,music,and AI content creation.The institution is led by women,founded by asian American Pacific Islanders,and aims at amplifying underrepresented voices both onscreenand behind-the-scenes.
In recent years,Renner has actively engaged in philanthropy alongside his artistic endeavors.The Rennervation Foundation he established in 2024 provides support for foster youth,wildfire survivors,and others recovering from significant losses.
