Celebrating Our Furry Friends at Our Lady of the Rosary

This⁣ past weekend, the community at Our Lady of the ​Rosary in Staines welcomed ⁢pet owners⁣ too bring⁣ their beloved animals to a special Mass. This event is part of​ a cherished annual custom that coincides wiht the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and aligns⁤ with ⁢their own patronal​ celebration.

A Diverse​ Gathering of Pets

This ​year’s blessing ⁤saw an array of‌ pets,including dogs,cats,and even some small rodents. Notably, a majestic horse⁣ also joined in ⁣for this heartwarming occasion.

The Importance of Pets in Our ​Lives

Fr. Philip Dyer Perry, the parish priest, expressed ⁣his thoughts on this​ unique tradition:⁢ “For many individuals and families, pets hold significant places in our hearts. They⁣ are part of God’s creation—an aspect we are called to ‌nurture responsibly. The ‌way we care for our animals reflects our humanity.”

“As we extend blessings to these cherished companions ​this weekend,” he continued, “may we always strive to treat God’s​ creation with kindness and‌ respect.”
