Heartbreaking Blaze Displaces Family and Pets in Cave Spring Home Fire – WDBJ7

ROANOKE COUNTY, Virginia (WDBJ) – A residential fire in Cave Spring on the evening of September ‍24 resulted in the ⁢displacement of two individuals and several⁢ pets.

The Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department received⁢ an emergency call at 10:25 PM regarding‌ a structure fire located in the 3800 block of Hyde Park Drive.

Upon arrival, first responders found a wooden structure engulfed in flames at the back deck. Fortunately, two ​residents managed to escape unharmed along with six birds and ‌a dog, according​ to‌ reports from emergency ⁤personnel.

The ⁢blaze was⁤ brought ‍under ⁢control within approximately 15 minutes, as reported by⁤ officials​ from Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department.

The Roanoke County‌ Fire Marshals Office is currently conducting⁤ an investigation into what caused the fire and assessing damage estimates.
