TikTok creator Mel moon (@mel.moon.comic) decided to try this method after her British Shorthair/Russian Blue mix disappeared last month.
“someone commented on my post asking if I had tried the Japanese missing cat method,” she recounted. “You basically have to go outside, find a stray or neighborhood cat, crouch down to its level, and explain that you’ve lost your own cat—describe your pet in detail and even give it their name while expressing how much they mean to you.”
“Then offer it a treat as if it’s some kind of finder’s fee,” she added with a chuckle.
