Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal of teh Hulk may soon intersect with Tom Holland’s upcoming film, “Spider-Man: A Fresh Beginning.”
Ruffalo is rumored to make an appearance in the highly anticipated fourth installment of the “Spider-Man” series, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Though, it remains uncertain whether a formal agreement has been reached for him to reprise his iconic role as Bruce Banner, also known as the Incredible Hulk.
The film “A Fresh Beginning” will feature returning stars such as Zendaya, who plays M.J.Jones-Watson, Peter Parker’s girlfriend, and Jacob batalon as his loyal friend Ned Leeds. New additions to the spider-Man universe include Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Punisher (who recently appeared in Disney+’s “Daredevil: Born again”) and fresh characters portrayed by Emmy winner Liza colón-Zayas from “The Bear” and Sadie Sink from “Stranger Things.” The screenplay is penned by Chris McKenna and erik Sommers under Cretton’s direction.
A significant aspect of Holland’s Spider-Man saga has been his interactions with seasoned mentor figures. this includes Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man in both “Homecoming” and various “Avengers” films. Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury played a pivotal role in 2019’s “Far From home,” while 2021’s “No Way Home” featured Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange alongside previous Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield crossing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Thus, Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner would seamlessly fit into this mentorship dynamic; although he has yet to lead a solo film himself, he had a prominent co-starring role in ”Thor: Ragnarok” and appeared in several episodes of Disney+’s series “She-hulk: Attorney at Law.”
