This weekend, moviegoers will have their frist glimpse of “Avatar: ⁣Fire and Ash,” but onyl ‌if they attend a screening of ⁢“The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”

A recent announcement ‌on the ‍ official “Avatar” X account revealed that the highly⁢ anticipated⁢ trailer for James Cameron’s third installment in the Avatar series will ‍debut exclusively in theaters before showings of Marvel’s “Fantastic Four.”

“Avatar: Fire and Ash” is ⁢set to premiere in theaters on December 19.‍ Meanwhile, the fourth and fifth installments‍ are scheduled for release on December 21, 2029, and December 19, 2031, respectively.

Diversity ‍update in Cinema

The trailer was initially unveiled to attendees at CinemaCon ‌back in April. It transports viewers back to the vibrant world of Pandora while introducing two new na’vi tribes: The Wind Traders ⁤who soar through⁣ the skies using balloon-like contraptions, and their adversaries,‌ the Fire Folk who ride flying creatures. Tensions rise between these⁤ clans as one ⁣na’vi ‌is struck down by a flaming arrow.

the narrative of “Fire and Ash” picks up instantly ⁣after⁢ “The ⁢Way of Water,” which depicted Jake and his family collaborating with Pandora’s aquatic tribe known as the Metkayina to combat against oppressive forces from Resources Management Administration. In this new chapter, they face off against⁤ the Ash⁤ Folk—former members of Jake’s clan⁤ who have turned away⁤ from their nature-centric beliefs.

Both “Avatar” and “The Way of Water” achieved remarkable⁣ success at global box offices, each ‍surpassing $2 billion in earnings—ranking them as the top two highest-grossing films worldwide. Should “Fire and Ash” achieve ‍similar ⁢financial success ⁤upon its release, it would make Avatar unique as a franchise with three films crossing that monumental⁣ $2 billion mark.
