Meet George,the adventurous cat.
This daring feline recently made headlines after escaping from an animal care facility in Lakeland, Florida, where he was recuperating post-neutering. In a bold move, he managed to break free from his crate and scale a fence.
“I was devastated and heartbroken,” shared George’s owner, Bob Beasock, with FOX 13.
Despite the efforts of SPCA Florida staff who pursued him, they were unable to catch up with George.

“George managed to escape his enclosure; he literally scaled some fencing meant for dogs before disappearing into nearby woods. Our team even tried lifting each other over fences in an attempt to catch him,” recounted Randa Richter from SPCA Florida, noting that George still had some anesthesia effects lingering post-surgery.
The Journey Home
A few days later, against all odds, George returned home—three miles away!
“If I had been stuck at SPCA like him, I would have called an Uber! But unfortunatly for George, that wasn’t an option,” beasock joked. “He had quite a trek ahead of him—navigating thru two or three neighborhoods around lakes and crossing several roads.”
